Doesn’t it just drive you crazy when you find a new band or singer that you love and you can’t buy a cd? Clare Portman, a member of JD and the Longfellows and Big Girls Blouse, has some wonderful solo songs on her MySpace page. I recommend starting with The Other One; her voice is both sweet and soulful, and she has an optimism and streak of independence that comes through even while singing about an unfaithful partner. There’s also a video of the song All Yours Now. Go check it out!

I here you on this one! I myself love MySpace for the fact that I can find songs that I can’t get on CD and now some of those tracks you can buy from the artist page on MySpace for $.99.
But I know what you mean. I have a different choice in music than you but it happens to all of us!

Texas- It took me a long time to get onto MySpace, but now that I’ve been there for awhile I agree that it’s a great place for finding new music. For instance- I found Clare’s page after becoming a fan of JD and the Longfellows, which was after JD messaged me on MySpace suggesting that I’d like his band based on a radio station that I mentioned liking. I guess a little goes a long way.
Clare- You’re welcome! I have to admit, I used to hang out on your MySpace page for up to an hour just to play that song over and over. I’m glad to hear that the cd will be finished soon, and I’m looking forward to hearing it!
